Your documents and the network
Does Endpaper upload my PDFs anywhere?
No. It works on your Windows computer. There is no account and no server of ours holds anything. Two things reach the network, and only when you ask: a check for a newer version, which sends the version number you are running, and a timestamp authority you name yourself when signing with a certificate, which receives a hash of the signature and never the document.
Are there adverts in the software?
No adverts, no sponsored panels, no pop-ups about features you did not buy, and no usage tracking. There is no telemetry to switch off because there is none.
Will it run on a machine with no internet connection?
Yes. The licence check is offline. The only network features are the update check and, if you use it, a timestamp authority you name.
How the licence works
Is it a subscription?
No. Every paid plan is a perpetual licence bought once. Pro is $39 once with two years of updates, or $69 once with updates for life. Team is $89 a seat, or $149 with lifetime updates. The free tier costs nothing and never expires.
What is the difference between the $39 and $69 Pro plans?
Only how long new versions keep arriving. Both are perpetual and both keep working for ever. At $39 you get every update released in the next two years. At $69 you get every version we ever release. A two-year extension costs $19, so the lifetime price pays for itself the second time you would have extended.
What happens when my update term ends?
Nothing switches off. You keep the version you have with every feature in it. Another two years of updates costs $19 for Pro or $39 a seat for Team, or you ignore it.
What if Alien Tech Services stops selling Endpaper?
The licence is perpetual and it is verified on your computer, so no server of ours has to be running for your copy to open.
How many computers does one Pro licence cover?
One person on up to two computers, a desktop and a laptop for example. That is the same on both Pro plans.
Do you offer volume or site licences?
Team is $69 a seat from five seats, or $119 a seat with lifetime updates. From twenty seats, write to support@eppdf.com and we will quote a site licence.
Redaction and what gets saved
Is the redaction real?
The content is deleted from the file rather than covered with a box. Endpaper then reopens the file it saved, searches the page text, metadata, annotations and form fields, inflates the compressed streams and searches those too, and reports anything that survived along with anything it could not read. That is a verification pass, and a verification pass is not a guarantee. If you are disclosing under an obligation, check with your own tools as well. That is good practice with any product, ours included.
Does the free tier watermark my files?
No. Nothing Endpaper saves is marked, in any plan.
Windows and the limits
Which Windows versions does it run on?
Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. There is no macOS, Linux, mobile or browser version, and none is planned.
Can it convert PDF to Word or Excel?
No, in either direction. If you need that, you need Acrobat or Foxit. We would rather say so than take your money.
Paying, warnings and refunds
Do you take card details?
Never. Endpaper contains no billing code of any kind, and the payment processor handles the transaction.
Will Windows warn me when I install it?
During the beta, yes. The build is not signed yet, so SmartScreen warns. A code signing certificate is being arranged, and the warning goes once builds are signed and enough people have downloaded them.
Do you offer refunds?
Fourteen days, no questions. The free tier is there so you can try the product before paying for anything.
