What Endpaper does
Every tool below is in the build you would get. Nothing here is planned, greyed out or labelled coming soon. Where a tool has a limit, the limit is written beside it.
Free, and it stays free
The free tier is a working PDF editor, not a viewer with the useful parts removed. It marks nothing you save, needs no account, and does not expire.
Read
Tabs, one page, facing pages or continuous scroll, fit width, full screen, night pages for a dark room, thumbnails, bookmarks, layers, read aloud with a Windows voice.
Search
Find in the document, or search a whole folder and open the hit where it sits.
Text recognition
Make a scan searchable using the engine built into Windows. The picture of the page is left alone.
Pages
Insert, delete, rotate, extract, split, merge, rename a page, add page numbers, or number pages as Exhibit A, B, C so the bundle reads the way the court expects.
Mark up
Highlight, underline, strike through, notes, text boxes, freehand drawing, stamps, then burn the marks in when you are done.
Compare
Two versions side by side with the changed passages listed, and any page it could not read named rather than passed over in silence.
Sign
Sign electronically with a recorded consent and an audit trail carried inside the file.
Protect
Set a password, or remove one you know.

Redaction
Delete every occurrence of a word or pattern, then read a verification pass that reopens the saved file, inflates its compressed streams, and reports both what it found and what it could not read. That is a check, not a guarantee: verify with your own tools too.
Hidden information
Find personal information across a document, and strip metadata and earlier versions of the file left inside it.
Bates numbering
Continuous across a folder, with the first and last number reported at the end of the run.
Bundles
A contents page where every row is a working link, a bookmark per document, and a manifest written beside the file.
Stamping
Watermarks, headers, footers and running heads.

Run a recipe on whatever lands in a folder. It runs only while Endpaper is open and installs no background service.
The command line, in every plan
endpaper.exe runs the same code the menus call, so a scheduled task and a person
clicking a menu get identical results. Your plan's limits apply the same way at the command line.
What Endpaper does not do
This list is on the site on purpose. Everything else here is easier to believe once you have read it.
- No conversion to or from Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
- No reflowing text. Editing replaces words in place, so a paragraph will not re-wrap itself.
- No editing of images already on the page, and no cropping.
- No accessibility tagging and no conformance verdict. The checker names the problems it found.
- Windows only. No macOS, Linux, mobile or browser version, and none planned.
- No cloud storage, no sync, no collaboration server, no AI features of any kind.
What it needs
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and about 190 MB of disk space.
- No internet connection to use it. The update check contacts eppdf.com when you ask, or once a day, and sends only the version number you are running.
